The Chair on Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage Systems is organized in three sections with a clear focus on battery and energy storage systems. Our tasks is to make the best out of existing battery technologies for any type of application by appropriate selection of the battery technology, optimum sizing, lifetime-maximizing operating and management strategies, battery system designs for reliable and safe operation, and precise monitoring and diagnostics.

MEET Batterieforschungszentrum / Universität Münster
MEET (Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology) is the battery research center at Münster University. It comprises an international team of around 140 scientists working on the research and development of innovative electrochemical energy storage devices with high energy density, longer durability and maximum safety. The aim is to improve batteries for use in electric cars and stationary energy storage systems. MEET brings together basic scientific research and industrial applications at one location. To this purpose, it works together closely with both other scientific institutions and partners from industry. The laboratory facilities include the modules functional material synthesis, electrode and cell production, cell testing and electrical measurement technology.
